Maui’s Gardening Style

May 12, 2009

Here’s Maui, our 7-month old Catahoula Leopard Dog/Beagle mix:

This is how she likes to help me garden:

She really loves taking the mesh off of Jiffy 7’s.  Maybe she thinks they’re fun, little soil balls of flavour with little green bits sticking out.  She’s also a big fan of popsicle sticks, the ones I use to label stuff.  Here’s what’s leftover of a tray of herbs and lettuce that she got into last week:

She’s lucky she’s so cute.

It’s the hound in her…LOL I’ve a 3 year old hound that’s still in puppy mode with no sign of ever growin’ up lol

That’s too funny. I remember how mad I was at Lucy when she decided to “prune” my clematis vines. I was so mad, but it was so funny to see her sitting in a huge pile of vines looking like she was having the best time. I must say, my clematis bloomed prettier that year than it ever has.

Love that picture. My lab mix spent 2 years moving an orange tree I planted. Finally gave up and planted it where she wanted. It’s now giving us a season’s worth of fruit. I listen to my dog’s advice on gardening.
